EWB Events

Closed-loop plastic system challenge | 6-20 November | Online

Are you a plastic recycling expert? Either from a technical, creative, business or system perspective? And would you like to support EcoBrixs in achieving their mission of creating a closed loop plastics system in Kigambi (Uganda)? Then we are looking for you!

To set up this closed plastics loop system, EcoBrixs faces several technical challenges and thus requested support from us, EWB-NL. In order to address these challenges, we are looking for passionate participants with relevant expertise and/or experience in plastics recycling to collaborate during a mini-project.

Why These Challenges?

The goal of this event is that you and your team come up with possible solutions and to analyze their possibilities and constraints. This will help us to define the direction and scope of our long-term collaboration with EcoBrixs.

If you are interested, please sign up through our form. We aim to form mixed teams, with participants located in NL and Uganda and with relevant expertise. In the week before the challenge we will let you know if you are accepted and in which team.

Meet-and-greet (Rotterdam edition) - 11th of September 2020

Do you want to know more about EWB-NL and our new vacancies? Then join us for our Meet-and-Greet!
For this special edition we are going to present the backbone of our organization: our operational teams! This is the best chance for sympatizers and new volunteers to understand how we operate.
We are organizing a very interactive session, so keep an eye on this space to discover the final program for the event.

COVID19 UPDATE: The event will be organized following the latest guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants.
Generally, the EWB Meet&Greet includes:

  1. 19.00-19.15 – Introducing EWB: Are you curious to know more about EWB in the Netherlands? Do you want to know about vacancies and meet volunteers? During this ice breaker you will find many current EWB volunteers willing to pitch their roles and current vacancies!
  2. From 19.15 – Project updates, Team updates, Events updates, and much more! The specific program for this Meet-and-Greet will be announced soon in our Facebook page.
  3. Of course the night is not complete without socializing time with your EWB fellows.

Meet-and-greet (Rotterdam edition) - 5th of June 2020

The Meet-and-Greet is a great opportunity for EWB-NL members to learn more about ongoing projects, expand their connections and have a chat with other members. Also, it is a great chance for new interested people to get to know more about EWB-NL and vacancies. The Meet-and-Greet takes place in Rotterdam four times per year.

COVID19 UPDATE: Due to current situation, EWB-NL decided to host this event online. Please follow our Facebook page to receive the last news about the event!

Generally, the EWB Meet&Greet includes:

  1. 19.00-19.30 – An introduction about EWB: Are you curious to know more about EWB in the Netherlands? Do you want to know about vacancies and meet volunteers? The first half an hour is the best time for you. Current members are welcome to also join earlier and pitch open positions in their teams.
  2. From 19.30 – Project updates:  (for example the teams share insights from field trips, present project results or introduce a new project) and other relevant updates (such as upcoming activities and what the EWB board and support teams are working on). The program for this Meet-and-Greet will be announced soon in our Facebook page.
  3. Of course the night is not complete without socializing time with your EWB fellows.

EWB The future of water summit 2020

Join us for the very first knowledge sharing summit on the subject of “Future of Drinking Water”

Half-day – 5 speakers – 4 project solutions

At EWB-NL we realize that for some communities in developing countries access to fresh drinking water is a stumbling block in their daily life. How would you grant access to drinking water in communities with limited resources, in remote locations? And how would you ensure it will be sustainable? How would you bring into contact the right parties and what does it take to turn an NGO’s effort into success?

Meet&Greet #13 (Rotterdam edition) - 29th of November 2019

The Meet&Greet is a great opportunity for EWB-NL members to learn more about ongoing projects, expand their connections and have a chat with other members. Also, it is a great chance for new interested people to get to know more about EWB-NL and vacancies. The Meet&Greet takes place every 3 months in Rotterdam and every 6 months in Eindhoven.

Generally, the EWB Meet&Greet includes:

  1. 19.00-19.30 – An introduction about EWB: Are you curious to know more about EWB in the Netherlands? Do you want to know about vacancies and meet volunteers? The first half an hour is the best time for you. Current members are welcome to also join earlier and pitch open positions in their teams or just to get a drink.
  2. From 19.30 – Project updates (for example the teams share insights from field trips, present project results or introduce a new project) and other relevant updates (such as upcoming activities and what the EWB board and support teams are working on). Please feel free to share updates about your experiences and bring new ideas. The program for this Meet&Greet will be announced soon!
  3. Drinks! Of course the night is not complete without socializing time with your EWB fellows.

Location:
The event takes place at the CIC Venture Café, this is located at the 4th floor of Groothandelsgebouw which is next to Rotterdam Central Station (Stationsplein 45, Rotterdam).
