EWB NL (”We”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This notice together with our terms of use sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.
Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

We are a Foundation that provides free engineering services to developing comunities through our volunteers. For this purpose, we need to collect and retain some information about our volunteers.

This is information about you that you give us by filling in forms on our site or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. It includes information you provide when you register to join our foundation as a volunteer, attend our events, participate in discussion boards or other social media functions on our site, enter a design challenge, workshop or lecture, and when you report a problem with our site.
The information you give us or we collect about you may include your name, address, e-mail address and phone number, documentation and references verifying your qualifications and experience, curriculum vitae and photograph, links to your professional profiles available in the public domain e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter, business Facebook or corporate website.

We aim to meet the following commitments:
“Data” consists of all data that we hold or have control over and therefore to which this policy applies. This includes physical data such as hard copy documents, contracts, notebooks, letters and invoices. It also includes electronic data such as emails, electronic documents, photos, audio and video recordings. It applies to both personal data and non-personal data. We refer to this information and these records collectively as data.
We comply with legal and regulatory requirements to retain data.
We comply with our data protection obligations, in particular to keep personal data no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed (storage limitation principle).
We handle, store and dispose of data responsibly and securely.
We create and retain data where we need this to operate our foundation effectively, but we do not create or retain data without good reason.
This does not form part of a contract of employment and we may amend it at any time.

To run our activities, we rely on local partners that represent or work closely with the communities we assist. Within the context of these activities, we might have to share your personal information with the local partner. Note that in this case, we will share the minimum necessary information and you will be directly involved in the process. During EWB NL activities we might collect media material to further promote our foundation. When you participate in our events, projects or activities, you have to be aware that we are collecting this media material and we will use it to promote our Foundation work.

You can request us to update or remove the information you gave us when you volunteered to work with us.
