Portfolio Manager
EWB-NL is looking for a passionate and dedicated Education Portfolio Manager to manage our Structures portfolio.
In this role you will kick-start new projects and manage existing ones, while building teams of experts. Portfolio Managers ensure the effective and efficient execution of the projects and act as a coach for the teams. They also have direct contact with benefactors, and other important stakeholders inside and outside of our organization.
Your activities
- As Portfolio Manager you review the project requests within the portfolio and assist the requesting parties with the writing of a project proposal.
- We will believe in power of collaboration, therefore you will be working together with fellow Portfolio Manager
- You assemble project teams and assist them throughout the project cycle. The set-up of a project team includes “recruiting” a project manager and assisting in on-boarding project members.
- You coach the project teams in the project execution and serve as the first line of contact for team members and the local partners.
- You manage project budget allocation and forecast budget spending on an annual basis.
- You work closely with existing local partners and help to widen the EWB network for further projects.
- You report monthly on the portfolio’s progress during our operations meetings.
- You have contact with our benefactors and other stakeholders and provide them with progress reports if/when required.
Applicant Requirements
- You have excellent organisational skills and experience with managing projects
- You are team focused, committed, and can motivate your team members
- You are reliable, entrepreneurial and have a thorough understanding of the issues that developing countries deal with (previous experience with non-profit organisations is good to have)
- You are outgoing and resourceful
- You are prepared to dedicate min. 4 hours of volunteer work to the portfolio per week.
