Job Description

In this role you will work on kick-starting new projects and building teams of water experts. The Portfolio Manager ensures the effective and efficient progress flow of the project and acts as a coach for the teams.

Your activities

  • Review the project requests within the “access to sanitation and  clean water” scope (SDG 6) and assist the requesting party (our local partners) with creating a project case.
  • Form project teams and assist them throughout the project cycle. The set-up of a project team includes “recruiting” a project manager and assisting in on-boarding project members. 
  • Review EWB project proposals – coach the project teams about the project management process.
  • Bring the project teams within our water portfolio together and build a super team, leverage knowledge.
  • Manage budget allocation for water projects and forecast budget spends on an annual basis.
  • Work closely with existing local partners and helps to widen EWB network for further projects.

Expected work load is up to 4h a week, with all team-interactions commencing in the afternoons and occasional weekends

With the long-lasting pandemic which is impacting field travel, you have a room for crafting how projects are undertaken. You are welcome to work out of our office space in CIC Rotterdam or remote.

What we would love for you to bring to the table

  • Good organisational skills and experience with managing projects
  • Experience in related Water management domain is a must 
  • Previous experience with NGO organisations is a nice to have
  • Outgoing and resourceful individual

EWB NL consists of 4 portfolios: Water, Energy, Circular and Education. Each of these portfolios are led by two portfolio managers, in this role you will be working close with another Water portfolio manager.
