Job Description

In Engineers Without Borders – The Netherlands, our volunteers are a key asset to implement our projects: without their time and knowledge, EWB-NL would not be possible. With them, we share the enthusiasm and passion about making a positive change with long lasting impact.

We want to make sure that our volunteers get on-boarded in a smooth way, remain happy and engaged. We also want to better understand what motivates them and provide them with opportunities to learn and grow.

Your activities

  • Support portfolio managers and team leads with the on-boarding process of new volunteers; 
  • Define together with EWB-NL´s board, the personal development plan or road map for EWB volunteers;
  • Define and prepare events/workshops/trainings that contribute to the personal development, skills and/or knowledge of the volunteers;
  • Join the bi-monthly operational meetings that will take place in CIC Rotterdam or online (subject to COVID restrictions);
  • One of the goals would be to further brainstorm and define activities to shape our HR team.

Expected time load is up to 4 h a week, with all team-interactions commencing in the afternoons and occasional weekends

What we would love for you to bring to the table

  • People oriented person: enjoys and is good at interacting with others
  • Interest in EWB’s projects, our goals and technical challenges in developing countries. You do not necessarily need to be an engineer, but you should be interested in the projects. 
  • Creativity and ideas are very welcome, positive thinking
  • Your commitment to attend our bi-monthly meetings as much as possible.

Renumeration

All the openings at Engineers without Borders are unpaid volunteer positions. We dedicate our free time to improve life in developing countries and have fun and a great learning experience by doing so.
