This Meet & Greet is the quarterly recurring event at our office at CIC in Rotterdam. During this evening you have the perfect opportunity to meet and catch up with EWB fellows to share ideas and insights. During the Meet & Greet the project teams present updates and challenges, furthermore there will be discussions sessions, workshops, etc. If you are not an active member of Engineers Without Borders yet – this night will be a fantastic opportunity to meet our members and get to know what are we working on.
The Meet & Greet will happen on the 14th of December at 19.00 (newcomers) and at 19.45 (EWB volunteers) at our usual place – CIC Rotterdam at Venture Cafe space. We will start the night with a general introduction about EWB-NL for new members and curious souls. If you are not an (active) member of Engineers Without Borders yet – this night will be a fantastic opportunity to meet our volunteers and get to know what are we working on. The second part of the event starts at 19.45 with several project updates (such as the field trip of Water4Sovu in Rwanda), a review of the year by the EWB-NL board and an introduction to our second Design Challenge which will be organised in 2019. Of course there is also time for a chat with your EWB fellows.
*Who should come?
Our existing members and friends, and anyone who feels like joining our EWB family!
*Where are we meeting?
The event takes place at the CIC Venture Café, this is located at the 4th floor of Groothandelsgebouw which is next to Rotterdam Central Station (Stationsplein 45, Rotterdam).
*What should you bring?
Your bright ideas and energy which will power a better world! The same as the last time – we will have some drinks and snacks to offer, which should be paid through our ‘honesty box’ (with coins or Tikkie).
Do you think most presentations are boring? They are.
But not if you would use the power of storytelling.
At EWB it is important to share our stories to inspire others and we like all our volunteers to take part in this. So join our interactive masterclass, learn how to avoid boring presentations and how to present your ideas in a an engaging and convincing way. You will learn some theory and will practice actively the principles in small groups.
The masterclass takes place on Monday the 14th of January at our office in Rotterdam. This masterclass will be hosted by EWB-NL chairwoman Petra Beris. Don’t forget to bring a charged phone.
If you are interested to join, please let us know by sending an e-mail to email@example.com
The events team is planning to organise another fun EWB-NL Hang-Out in February. The activity, date and location will be revealed soon, so keep an eye on this page!
EWB-NL is hoping tackle pressing concerns in developing countries in the form of engineering-based solutions for locally requested projects. The Design Challenge 2019 aims to address some of such challenges by brainstorming in multi-disciplinary teams, with the winning teams being invited to develop and implement their solution in collaboration with the organisations which proposed the challenges. If you are an organisation or individual working towards providing solutions for the Energy sector, get in touch with us with your projects and it could qualify for the Design Challenge 2019! For more information, see our past event https://www.ewbnl.org/challenge/ or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
More information about the date and location will follow soon!
